We call that bird a "dompap" in Norway and the berries "Rognebær". Always said snow was comming when the dompap came, the same with rognebær. If there were a lot of rognebær we said "There will be snow because the trees are making food for the birds when it comes."
that's really great traditions of your country. unfortunatly, there is no bullfinches at my country (i saw this bird only one time, when i was a child 4-5 years old, my mom showed them to me. but i really like this bird)
these decorations should be really beautiful and full of christmas spirit. one of my friends told me a few days ago, that titmouse is christmas-time bird also. i prefer the bullfinches (they looks like santa, hah), but i liked his the idea with titmouse.
